You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.”

One of my favourite Mark Twain sayings. It’s easy as photographer and to just let oneself the operate a camera in automatic mode, but photography is about creating an imagine in one’s imagination.

I suppose choosing to be creative, curious, and full of wonder or being set on automatic is a great metaphor for living life, as well. I have to constantly remind myself to strive not just document, but to also look for subtleties and interpretation, if not some level of understanding.

Hence, my pictures need to display a little imagination to be successful (whatever that really means).

I live and play in Western Canada. I love the craft of making images, both with digital tools and analogue gear.
